The original Planet of the Apes

This is mesmerizing. Roddy McDowall was one of the stars of the original Planet of the Apes movie in 1968. He went on to make the sequels, and as you can tell from the video in the link, getting ready for the part back then bears no resemblance to what it's like today in the era of CGI. If the endless process of applying the makeup, which as I say is mesmerizing, doesn't convince you that these folks earned their apely salaries, then when you see them on the beach, with everybody else as naked as modesty would allow, and them all duded up in full ape drag, well, you get hot just thinking about it.
