The Seven Lady Godivas is a failure of a book by birthday boy Ted Geisel. A tip of one of the 500 hats to Maria Popova for letting us see it: Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss: The Seven Lady Godivas, His Little-Known “Adult” Book of Nudes. The art does raise the question, though: What, exactly, was the text all about?
Anyhow, this is a good indication of why Geisel did not pursue a career in the pornography trade.
