I was looking for something to celebrate Liza Minnelli's birthday today, and remembered this movie fondly, and found that you virtually can't watch it anymore. Not on DVD. Not on Netflix. Stepping Out has got to be somewhere, but beats me where. I'd write a letter to my congressman, but you know how much good that would do.

My favorite Liza Minnelli story is that when she was appearing on Broadway in the show "Liza with a Z," they had to reprint the tickets because they spelled her name Lisa...
Of all the things you can say about this performer, perhaps the most unusual is that her signature song, which she introduced in the film of the same name, was also somebody else's signature song, but to add to the confusion, that somebody else had not one but two signature songs with that same title. Then again, it is a hell of a town.
