Peter Cook and Dudley Moore

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, along with Alan Bennett and Jonathan Miller, comprised Beyond the Fringe, an early 60s British show that, among other things, spawned Monty Python. Thereafter, Cook and Moore performed often as a duo.

At the height of their fame, they starred in Bedazzled, Moore as the hapless Stanley Moon, and Cook as one of the best filmed devils ever. Here Cook is introducing himself.

Stanley is granted seven wishes in the film (and each wish is actuated via the uttering of the magic phrase, "Julie Andrews"). As a result of one of his wishes, the woman he loves finally reciprocates his feelings. Unfortunately, they are both nuns, of the order described in this bit:

Python fans with an interest in roots can do worse than scouring the interwebs for these guys.
